Human rights policy
This policy outlines our commitment to respecting human and labour rights across our operations and value chain, the scope of its application, and how it is embedded within The Vegetarian Butcher Collective.
Our commitment
We are committed to respecting, protecting and promoting human rights and good working conditions throughout our value chain. This applies to all employees, suppliers, partners and other stakeholders connected to our activities.
Our commitment is aligned with internationally recognised frameworks, including:
- the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
- the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Rights and Principles at Work
- the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises
- the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs)
Due diligence and risk management
We apply human rights due diligence as a continuous process to identify, prevent, mitigate and address potential and actual adverse impacts. This includes risk analyses, stakeholder engagement, taking appropriate measures and transparent communication.
Our due diligence covers both upstream and downstream activities in our value chain and prioritises risks based on severity and potential impact.
Governance and accountability
The responsibility for this policy is overseen by the Board, with implementation embedded in our business operations and day‑to‑day processes. Relevant teams are responsible for identifying risks, engaging with stakeholders and monitoring progress.
